I began writing when my children were young, drawing inspiration from their experiences and joys in life. I wanted to capture those precious moments and create stories that other children could enjoy and find meaning in.
How long have you been writing children’s literature?
I started my writing journey over 30 years ago. After facing many rejections initially, I decided to make another attempt and eventually succeeded in getting published.
What is your writing style like?
My writing style is quirky and fun. I enjoy taking everyday situations and turning them into humorous stories that make children laugh and parents smile.
What age group are your books intended for?
My books are primarily aimed at children aged 4-7 years old. I hope that parents also find my stories enjoyable to read aloud to their kids.
Can you tell us about some of your books?
Some of my books include “Happy Halloween and a Merry Christmas” and “A Home For Ziggy.”
What is your personal mission as a children’s author?
My personal mission is for children to find meaning in my stories and to laugh at the mere silliness of them. I want to create joyful and memorable experiences through my books.
Who are some authors that have influenced your work?
I admire Jan Brett for her beautiful illustrations, Dr. Seuss for his incredible rhyming skills, and Tomie de Paola, whose books I loved reading to my own kids.
